Graduate Pre-Reg

Join us as a Specsavers pre-registration Optometrist and you will work as part of a store team to deliver the highest standards of clinical and customer service to our customers.

Key information

The Specsavers pre-reg role is built on the principle of achieving excellence: clinical, professional and commercial. You will be responsible for your own personal development, as required by the College of Optometrists whilst benefiting from the industry leading Specsavers pre-reg programme.

Extensive Support

As a Specsavers pre-reg you will have support right where you need it most – in store. It’s your supervisor’s job to guide you through the pre-reg period and you will be in the very best hands in the business. Our supervisors have not only been trained by the College of Optometrists, but have also benefited from extra training to make sure they can give you all the help you need. Your supervisor is just part of a wider team of amazing people who are there to help you!

Industry Leading Programme

When you join us, you will get a day-long induction to get you started. It is really just a taster of things to come – you will benefit from eight days of courses covering everything from competencies and pathology to binocular vision and contact lenses. Our mock OSCEs will ensure you feel completely prepared for the final hurdle and know exactly what to expect. We are flexible too, with courses containing a mix of lectures, clinical discussions and interactive sessions.

98% of Our Pre-regs Pass their OSCEs

98% of our pre-regs pass their OSCEs after completing our course – we will always support you, whenever you need us. From online modules, support services and hints and tips, to articles from Optician magazine and college assessors, we bring it all together in one place. There is also a reminder service which sends text and emails about important events that supports you through the whole pre-reg process with revision quiz questions and more.

Enhanced Optical Services

Specsavers are industry leaders for a reason – we are proud to develop the best in the business. We will help you to go for higher qualifications as soon as you are qualified and even give you the chance to start to become accredited, alongside other professional staff in the store, to provide enhanced optical services as part of your pre-reg studies. Our commitment to your personal and clinical development is driving the industry forward in Enhanced Optical Services.
