As an Optical JVP, you will lead the optometric side of the business with the ultimate aim of providing the very best in patient eye care. From the number of clinics to the length of a sight test, you have the autonomy to run your business, whilst relying on support and guidance from Specsavers.

Recruitment Process

If a partnership with Specsavers sounds like the right opportunity for you, it’s time to begin your journey. We believe Specsavers partners are the best in the business; as such, all prospective partners undergo a rigorous assessment and selection process before being approved for partnership. 

If you already work for a Specsavers Store - Pathway Programme

If you are already employed by a Specsavers store, the starting point for everyone is the Partner Learning Diagnostic (PLD) and the Partner Academy – this is available to access and complete through iLearn.

Once you feel that you have completed the learning outlines in your PLD we would advise you to discuss this with your RRM and gain their support for your application. You then need to make a formal application to become a partner through the Specsavers careers site by registering your details here.

You will then be invited to attend a telephone interview that will explore your motivations for becoming a partner, talk through your understanding of the financial investment required and discuss your career and development journey so far. They will explore your diagnostic and be listening for evidence that you are ready to apply for partnership.

Following the telephone interview you will receive feedback on your application and guidance on what additional learning, capability or experience you will need to complete to get ready for the final Pathway assessment.

You will then begin to build an online portfolio of evidence (OneFile) to support your application.

Once you are ready to apply for final assessment we would advise you to speak with your RRM. You will take an operational validation and attend a final assessment day.

If you do not currently work for a Specsavers Store

If you do not currently work for Specsavers but are thinking about Partnership, please register your details here.

At this stage we’d encourage you to arrange to visit Specsavers stores in your local area. Talk to the partners and get a good idea of what’s involved and what it will mean for you.

A member of the Partner Recruitment team will then be in touch to arrange a telephone interview with you to discuss your suitability for partnership with Specsavers.

If successful at this stage, you will be invited to attend an assessment centre at which you will undergo a series of selection exercises. If you pass this, you will be approved for joint venture partnership. Once you have been approved to become a Joint Venture Partner, we will help you identify a Joint Venture Partnership opportunity.

When you then hopefully join us, you will have the opportunity to complete our Pathway programme. This is an excellent opportunity to further develop your leadership skills.
