Role summary

Welcome to Specsavers Louth; a well-established store in our rural market town.

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Optometrist to join our professional and experienced team. In return, you will be rewarded with the development and progression that you have been looking for.

The store

Following an extensive refit this medium sized store features four test rooms, a dedicated area for contact lenses and an extended dispensing area. Kitted out with a fundus camera, DVLA -approved fields screener, autorefractor, tonometeres and a colorimeter this store has everything you need. You’ll also be supported by a team of 20 staff members all with a wealth of optical knowledge and experience.

The store promotes a really positive working environment. They have an excellent reputation for providing a friendly, efficient and professional service which is demonstrated by the high level of feedback they always receive. With regular 1-2-1s, additional training and progression plans to meet your individual career goals, you’ll have the support to go far in your optical career. And for that well deserved down time you’ll be a joining a close-knit and sociable team who enjoy out of work events, often involving food!

The store’s patient mix is varied and interesting and they have a strong presence in the children’s sector. They are very involved with the local hospitals taking on triage work and doing specialist contact lenses for Grimsby Hospital. The store also perform DVLA testing (type 1&2) and they are keen for you, as their new Optometrist, to extend your clinical knowledge to become part of the WOPEC/MECS scheme.

Proud to be the headline sponsor for the Louth Community Awards, which the local paper runs every year the store are supportive of their local community. They have worked to improve the offering of this excellent event and it is rapidly becoming the 'Specsavers' Awards. In addition, they provide a new football kit for one of the ‘Lads and Dads’ football teams every year and now sponsor five teams. They have also provided fluorescent jackets for all the local primary children for 2 years running and they are in the process of sponsoring some facilities.
