Data Protection and Privacy Manager

  • We are currently looking to recruit a Data Protection and Privacy Manager who will become a key member of the growing international Data Protection Office. We are looking for someone who is passionate about our brand and also about privacy and data protection to advise over +1500 Specsavers stores globally The candidate will facilitate key stakeholder engagements across our business – forge business relationships and ensure regular visits to stores, support offices to evaluate, monitor and support colleagues in relation to data protection and privacy compliance and champion best practice.
  • The successful candidate will be able to work independently, had a good practical understanding of Data Protection and Privacy and pragmatic and commercial in their approach. This is a very proactive role around good information handling and the candidate will be expected to deliver data Protection and privacy awareness training across our organisation.

The candidate will play a key role in undertaking supplier assurance checks in relation to Article 28 of the GDPR. They will have experience of negotiating Data Protection Agreements with our suppliers and data processors and ensure relevant due diligence in relation to processor compliance with their Data Protection contractual obligations.

Candidates will be a regulatory professional with specialist data protection and privacy qualifications / experience. They will have a passion and drive for data protection compliance and will play a particularly pivotal role as Specsavers prepares its business for changes in business and regulatory landscape.
