Meet Dawn McIntyre - Director of Resourcing, Engagement & Change

Hi Dawn, tell us a little bit about your role and journey with Specsavers so far?
As part of my role, I lead a team of Business Partners supporting our Group functions, so areas like Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Legal and Brand. I have been with Specsavers for 8 years and it's been an ever-changing and exciting journey since day 1!

I understand you have a vacancy in your team at the moment, what is the role about? 
Yes, one of my team has a secondment opportunity in another team so I have a Head of HR role available. I need someone who can lead a small team of HR business Partners to work with our Finance, Supply Chain and Legal teams. These areas are key to our business success and have some great people plans for 17/18.

What top 5 skills do you think this person will need? 
I would say - great influencing skills, a good "challenger", commercial as well as people orientated, great coaching skills and the ability to prioritise and have impact - I think that could be 6!

What qualities do you look for in a candidate?
A team player, pragmatic, open and honest, genuine, positive, fun...

And finally, are there any exciting plans coming up that potential applicants may want to know? 
Yes, where to start...we are a growing and successful business, we have exciting plans to improve our customer offering and experience, we are investing heavily in technology and new products. We can't achieve our plans without our people, we will have new opportunities for existing teams, we will be recruiting new skills, we are looking at bringing in more flexible approaches to working and roles and we have some great development options to help people grow as the business develops.
