Hi Mark, tell us a little bit about your role and journey with Specsavers so far?
I joined Specsavers in December 2016 as there Integration Services Manager. This is a new & exciting role for Specsavers with 3 large global change programs in flight that will transform Specsavers IT and I am building a team that will be critical to the success of the programs.
The team is at the ‘start of a journey’ at a time of unprecedented technology and business change, where local roles are becoming global and leading edge technology will be used to deliver competitive advantage.
What makes Specsavers a great place to work?
What I like about Specsavers is it ‘lives & breathes’ the core behaviors it promotes. I know this sounds like I am drinking the ‘Kool-Aid’ but this is the only company I have worked for in my career where this truly happens. It is a culture that is encouraged and rewarded.
You are putting together a whole new team for your area, tell us more about that and the current role you are looking to fill?
I am looking for experienced Integration Designers & Leads with a passion for delivering excellence in integrated solutions. These solutions will connect Specsavers new world IT and their legacy platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of unprecedented Technology and Business change.

Why should someone join your team?
We are building a Integration ‘Centre of Excellence’ for the supply of development and support services to Specsavers globally. This will give you the opportunity to use the latest Cloud technologies along with leading edge software engineering tools. We are also being seen as the catalyst to embed Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps in Specsavers.
And finally, are there any exciting plans coming up that potential applicants may want to know?
The first Integration Solutions we have developed will go ‘live’ in July 2017 and we have a 3 year road-map of new exciting services to follow.

Based in Whiteley, you will be responsible for the design and delivery of new integration services between Oracle ERP, CRM and bespoke software in the cloud and on premises. As a Lead, you will be responsible for documenting high level designs from project requirements then managing the delivery of these solutions from our offshore partners. With your level of expertise, you will work with internal colleagues and stakeholders to ensure these integration solutions are delivered to project timelines.
Based in Whiteley, you will be responsible for the design, development, build & delivery of new integration services and the integrations between Oracle ERP, CRM and bespoke software in the cloud and on premises. With your level of expertise, you will work with internal colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the integrated solutions are delivered.
