Our Optometrist Sarah Marshall from Specsavers Bicester is celebrating after
being shortlisted in the 2018 Barclaycard everywoman in Retail Awards.

Sarah Marshall, optometrist and store director at Specsavers on Sheep Street,
has made it through to the final three in the Customer/User Experience Excellence Award. Sarah beat off competition from hundreds of other women from across the country and will attend an awards ceremony in London next month where the winners will be announced.

The award aims to recognise a woman who has been instrumental in improving or transforming the customer/user experience.

‘I’m absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted and I want to say a huge thank you to the whole team as without them we wouldn’t be able to offer the excellent customer service that we do,’ says Sarah. ‘We pride ourselves on offering the very latest technology to ensure our customers all have a positive experience in store. Whether that’s through our innovative Frame Styler, which helps pick frames best suited to your face shape, or a queuing app which allows customers to leave the store while they are waiting for their glasses and then we notify them by text when they are ready. We are always looking for ways to make improvements. I’m very much looking forward to the awards evening as it will be a cause for celebration no matter what the result.’

Maxine Benson MBE, co-founder of everywoman, comments: ‘This year’s finalists sparked a crucial debate around redefining retail. We are witnessing more women dispelling traditional models and are creating products and services that fit the customer first, rather than trying to attract customers to what already exists.’

The 2018 Barclaycard everywoman in Retail Awards will increase awareness of the diverse range of opportunities for women in retail, by shining the spotlight on role models and inspiring more women to consider a career in retail. This year draws on the theme of ‘Reimagining Retail,’ and will focus on how innovation and technology are revolutionising the retail landscape.
