Take Optometrist Angela Reilly, for example. Angela started her career journey as a Contact Lens Optician with a keen interest in clinical development. Five years later, Angela is a resident Optometrist at Billericay Specsavers and continues to receive unwavering support and guidance from the store directors towards achieving her career goals.

Arun Balasegaram, Ophthalmic Director

Arun qualified as an Optometrist in 1999 and set out on his Specsavers business venture just six years after qualifying. Arun is a passionate advocate of clinical development and firmly believes in continued training and education for optical professionals. Arun has a strong relationship with local Consultant Ophthalmologists and works hard to get his resident Optometrists involved in Post-Operative Cataract Assessment Schemes, minor eye condition services and an array of Enhanced Optical Services, to help them on their way tobeing the best clinicians they can be.

David Farman, Dispensing Director
David qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1980 and following many years of service as a Dispensing Store Manager, David realised his goals of business ownership with Specsavers. David strongly believes that good customer service begins with a happy team, and that this ethos has been the key to the success of the Billericay store. To keep his team motivated, David ensures that every member of staff is constantly working towards their goals as part of their personal development plan; from Optical Assistants with dreams of qualifying as Dispensing Opticians, to Dispensing Opticians - much like himself - looking to take on leadership responsibilities.
