Refer a JVP Terms and Conditions

Specsavers ‘Refer A Friend – Joint Venture Partner’ Internal Scheme Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to the Specsavers ‘Refer A Friend – Joint Venture Partner’ Scheme (the ‘Referral Scheme’).

  1. Specsavers Optical Superstores Limited, whose registered office is Forum 6 Parkway, Solent Business Park, Whiteley, Fareham, PO15 7PA, is the legal promoter of the Referral Scheme (‘Specsavers’).
  2. By participating in the Referral Scheme you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  3. Participants in the Referral Scheme must be an employee of Specsavers, or an employee of any member of the Specsavers Group, resident in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland and aged 18 or over (the ‘Referrer’). Specsavers and Specsavers Optical Group Limited employees involved in the promotion of the Referral Scheme are excluded from participation.
  4. The Specsavers Group includes any company or person having a joint venture or franchise or similar contractual affiliation with Specsavers.
  5. No purchase is required.
  6. To participate, Referrers must contact Specsavers to refer a person for the role of a Joint Venture Partner (‘JVP’) for Specsavers (the ‘Candidate’).
  7. The Referral Scheme is limited to permanent placements for the role of an Optometry, Retail, Audiology or Domiciliary JVP for Specsavers based in the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Republic of Ireland. It does not apply to any other role or fixed term contract or temporary staff placements in Specsavers. JVP roles are subject to availability.
  8. Referrers must contact Specsavers to provide details of the referral including the Candidate’s name and email address by telephone on 07880 176696 or by email at thepartnershipteam@specsavers.com. Referrals made by telephone must be followed up by an email to the email address provided containing full details of the referral.
  9. By referring a Candidate under this Referral Scheme the Referrer confirms that the Candidate:
    • has given his/her express consent to his/her details being passed on to Specsavers by the Referrer in connection with this Referral Scheme;
    • has given his/her express consent to be contacted by Specsavers; and
    • has been provided with these Terms and Conditions.
  10. The Referrer must not refer any Candidate under this Referral Scheme where referring that Candidate breaches any duty that the Candidate owed to any other organisation or person.
  11. The Referrer will be eligible to receive £2,000 (subject to tax) (the ‘Referral Gift’) if they refer a Candidate between 25.11.18 and 25.05.19 (the ‘Referral Period’) and the Candidate subsequently becomes a shareholder in a Joint Venture Company with Specsavers within 12 months of Specsavers’ first communication with the Candidate.
  12. The Referral Gift is not negotiable.
  13. Specsavers reserves the right to extend the Referral Period.
  14. If eligible, the Referrer will be paid the Referral Gift as a taxable bonus to his/her salary, to be paid in the month following the completion of the Candidate’s acquisition of shares in a Joint Venture Company.
  15. The Candidate will be required to state the full name of their Referrer when first contacted by Specsavers for the Referrer to be eligible for the Referral Gift.
  16. Under this Referral Scheme, Candidates can only be referred once. If a Candidate is referred more than once, only the first Referrer to refer the Candidate (with the Candidate’s permission) and be identified by the Candidate as their Referrer will be eligible to receive the Referral Gift.
  17. The Candidate will be required to participate in the Specsavers JVP Recruitment process.
  18. Permanent employees and contract and temporary workers working directly for Specsavers and the Specsavers Group are not eligible to be referred as Candidates under this Referral Scheme.
  19. Relatives of permanent employees and contract and temporary workers working directly for Specsavers and the Specsavers Group are not eligible to be referred as Candidates under this Referral Scheme.
  20. Specsavers reserves the right to change the scope of this Referral Scheme as they see fit.
  21. Specsavers reserves the right to terminate this Referral Scheme when they see fit without notice.
  22. Specsavers and its subsidiaries and holding companies will not accept responsibility for referrals that are lost, mislaid or delayed in transit, regardless of cause including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
  23. Referrers and Candidates agree that by entering this Referral Scheme that their personal details may be stored and otherwise processed by Specsavers and its subsidiaries and holding companies and any subsidiaries of its holding companies (the Specsavers Group) either manually or electronically for the purposes of administering the scheme, providing the Referral Gift, running the JVP recruitment process and appointing successful Candidates as JVPs. The information will be restricted to authorised users only and treated in the strictest confidence. Personal data may be held by Specsavers or the Specsavers Group as long as reasonably necessary to run the scheme.
  24. These terms will be subject to Specsavers’ Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy (the ‘Policies’). The Policies can be found on the Specsavers website (specsavers.co.uk).
  25. In so far as is permitted by law, Specsavers will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Referrer, or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Referral Gift except where it is caused by Specsavers’ negligence or that of its employees.
  26. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions, Specsavers may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude the Referrer or Candidate from participating in the Referral Scheme.
  27. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
